‘Storm Frank’ will bring widespread rainfall to our region today. The rainfall will spread from west to east and persist throughout the day before clearing away to the east in the evening. The majority of the rainfall is likely to have fallen by late afternoon. Widespread rainfall totals of 15mm are forecast with local maximums of 25mm during the day in more isolated locations. Update on damage to Otley weir
The River Wharfe has caused further damage to a scheme to fit a turbine at Otley – and had a dramatic effect on Otley Weir. Part of the original cofferdam – a temporary, watertight enclosure – that had been fitted for the hydro-electric project beside the Garnett Wharfe development was damaged during high river levels on Saturday, December 5.
