Poisonous plants at Pool Riverside Park
The Pool news team were contactly recently by someone who believed they had seen the deadly nightshade plants at Pool Riverside Park. Further research has led to the conclusion that the plant is called Cuckoopint or Lords and Ladies.
Pool in Wharfedale Womens Institute meeting
There was no official meeting for the Womens Institute this month, instead they had a lovely day out in Ripon ending with afternoon tea at the Old Deanery.

History of Pool Group
The History of Pool Group will be having their next meeting on Tuesday 1st September at 7-30pm till 9pm at Wharfedale Court.
The meeting title will be “70 years on. Pool in Wharfedale’s contribution to the final victory. A commemoration of VE Day and VJ Day in 1945.”
There will also be snippets of local history and updates.
Refreshments will be available. Everyone is welcome.

Update-Proposed culvert work on Pool Bank
The culvert is located around 350m to the north east of the Dyneley Arms junction. This is the part heading down the hill from the junction towards Pool-in-Wharfedale.
Due to the amendment of the proposed line of the culvert and on-going discussions with landowners, it now seems that work will begin mid-September (subject to an agreement being reached in principle). The works will be advertised on site in advance of the start date.The estimated works completion date is early December.
