Draft Leeds Parking Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)

Consultation 22 August to 17 October 2014

I am writing to inform you that we are now consulting on the draft Leeds Parking Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) and to invite you to take part in this public consultation.

The Leeds Parking SPD will form part of the portfolio of documents which constitute the Local Development Framework (LDF). The purpose of the draft Leeds Parking SPD is to formalise the current parking policies contained within the Unitary Development Plan and other documents, and to update the maximum parking guidelines for new developments. The SPD should not introduce new policy but is intended to elaborate on the parking policies contained within the Publication Draft Core Strategy. The SPD also sets out the way that the Council operates the public car parking under its control.

The draft SPD covers parking policy throughout the district, but also sets out a specific strategy for City Centre parking management. It covers bicycle and motorcycle parking as well as car parking. Feedback from the public consultation will be taken into account when finalising the SPD.

Please visit http://www.leeds.gov.uk/LeedsParkingSPD to view the draft document and follow the links to provide your feedback online. You can also provide comments via email to travelwise@leeds.gov.uk but please specify in your response which section of the document your comments refer to.

Kind regards,

Rebecca Dickson
