Enthusiasts for travel by rail may be encouraged by this latest report.
In the Ripon Gazette web vote. The result was an overwhelming 96% yes to a reinstated railway to Ripon. On the last day the poll peaked at 97% then fell back due to a last minute rush of no votes. This sends out a message to all decision makers how much the residents of Ripon want their railway link back. Pressure on Councillors and MPs must be maintained.
Winds are expected to strengthen this evening, initially across Irish Sea coastal areas of northwest Wales, northwest England and the far southwest of Scotland, where gusts of 60 to 65mph are likely. This swathe of strong winds will then transfer eastwards across other parts of northern England (and perhaps the far south of Scotland) overnight and early on Thursday morning. Inland gusts of 40 to 50mph are expected widely, with 60 to 65 mph gusts possible across (and perhaps locally to the east of) high ground.
The public should be aware of the potential for some localised disruption to travel.

A local group of well intentioned wandering thespians without a home to call their own. As a result they meander around the Yorkshire Dales looking for anyone that will give them a home for an evening in which they can perform and, hopefully, entertain.
