Planning application – Pool Court Arena

APPLICATION 12/03537/FU – OFFICE EXTENSION TO STABLE AND NEW OUTDOOR RIDING AREA – POOL COURT ARENA, POOL BANK NEW ROAD, POOL IN WHARFEDALE.

Application DEFERRED AND DELEGATED to the Chief Planning officer subject to further discussions to restrict the size and or weight of vehicles allowed to enter and off Pool Bank Road and to look at possibility of right turn ban from Pool Bank Road into access or white lining to improve turning circle.  Ward Members to be consulted on final proposals.  Proposal to be brought back to Panel only if agreement with Ward Members cannot be reached.

Councillor Barry Anderson will be arranging a meeting with the interested parties when a date has been agreed with a planning officer.

  1. Message received from Councillor Barry Anderson:
    I will ensure that Highways are made aware of the peak traffic information. At the moment, horses may be using the access, but this is subject to change depending on the outcomes achieved.

  2. If this planning application is to go ahead it should not be via access for cars on to Pool Bank New Road. However it might be a good time to secure part of the cycle path / footpath link for public usage to Otley as a planning condition along the old railway line to Arthington . This should be the preferred option for any access arrangements should the plan go ahead. It will also sit well when Arthington Station is built.
